The Salesforce Spring ’23 Release is here, and it’s full of exciting new features.

What’s new in Spring ‘23 Release

As already announced, Multi-factor authentication (MFA) will be enabled for direct logins to your org when Spring ‘23 rolls out in the January-February 2023 timeframe. Or it will be enabled later if the MFA Auto-Enablement Release Update doesn’t appear in your org’s Release Update node in Setup.

So, now moving to the Release updates, Here are the top features you must get familiar with to test run them in your org.

 

1. Migrate to Flow now supports Process Builder

Salesforce released the Migrate to Flow Tool way before Spring ’23. But it could migrate workflow rules only. Now, with Spring ’23, you can also migrate your Process Builder processes.

2. Reactive Screen Components Currently in Beta

The Spring ’23 release introduces reactive screen components, allowing you to configure your screen components to respond to user actions on the same page. Previously, this would have required placing components into separate screens.

The reactive components supported in Spring ’23 are Text, Date, Date Time, Checkbox, Number, Password, Currency, Data Table, Email, Name, Address, Slider, Toggle, and Custom LWC Components.

To access the beta version, enable the permission in your Process Automation Settings.

3. HTTP Callout (Beta)

Currently, in Beta, this feature allows you to bring external data into Flow Builder without code. You can use a Named Credential with a sample JSON Response to make the callout. The flow will then generate a data structure that matches the response and can be accessed without code. Finally, map the data types from the JSON response to flow variables.

4. Splits at the Product Level(Pilot)

This new feature allows collaboration on complex deals with opportunity product splits. Splits, which were previously done at the opportunity level, are now able to be tracked and shared with multiple team members at the product level, available from the Spring ‘23 release.

5. Apex SDK For Slack (Beta)

The Apex SDK for Slack (Beta) enables you to execute a screen flow without parameters using either shortcuts or a button within Slack. Just develop an application or a view in Slack that invokes a flow with the “Make Available in Slack” advanced setting enabled. Construct an app to provide users with global shortcuts, message shortcuts, or slash commands to invoke flows from Slack

6. Design custom forecast pages using the Lightning App Builder.

With this feature, the sales team can customize their desktop forecast pages to include all the information that sales leaders need to create precise forecasts that are tailored to your business. Using the Lightning App Builder, they can easily create pages with both standard and custom components, allowing you to keep up with any changes in your sales processes.

7. Multi-Select Picklists in Dynamic Forms for Flow

Available in the Winter ’23 release, Dynamic Forms for Flow had some limitations. Starting in Spring ’23, Dynamic Forms for Flow will begin to support multi-select picklist fields.

Multi-select picklist fields of Dynamic Forms for Flow, offer the same experience as their counterparts on record pages.

8. Changes in Lightning Web Components

These components have changed in LWC-

Lightning-barcode-scanner

It embeds an icon that launches a barcode scanner when clicked. Among other features, you can customize the icon, change the camera view size, and scan only certain barcode types with this component.

Changed the colors of Standard Object, Action, and Doctype icons for accessibility. The new icons match the Salesforce Lightning Design System (SLDS) icon blueprint.

This attribute is new.

This attribute is new.

9. Choice Lookup (Beta)

You can now utilize the new Choice Lookup (Beta) component to display your choices in a Lookup format. With this component, you can create a filtered record choice set or collection choice set to build lookups with filters.

10. Dynamic Actions for all standard objects

In addition to Account, Case, Contact, Lead, and Opportunity for desktop, Dynamic Actions are now available for all standard objects.

Users will enjoy the simplicity of a simple choice based on their role, profile, or certain criteria for a record instead of having to get lost in an endless list of actions.
