The release note for the Salesforce Spring ’24 release cycle is out now. As anticipated, the Spring ’24 release release helps teams work smarter with new product innovations built on Salesforce’s motto: Data + AI + CRM + Trust.

While the release notes bring many new features, they will not be available before January 12th when they hit production on the first weekend of the release, followed by subsequent release weekends on February 2 and February 9, respectively.

Meanwhile, we have put together the newest Spring’ 24 release features in this blog for you to stay abreast of what’s coming into your org this spring. Take a look!

Spring ’24 Release: Top Features for Developers

Numerous improvements have been made to LWC and Aura components in this release.

A recent addition is the wrap-table-header attribute in the lightning-data table component, facilitating header text wrapping within column widths.

Additionally, a substantial modification to lightning:navigation in Aura now revolves around the replace property within the navigate(pageReference, replace) method, offering quick action navigation.

Apart from that, some of the big updates for developers are:

  • Scratch Org SnapShots (Beta):

Currently, in beta, this feature lets users copy any scratch organization’s configuration at any point in time, enabling them to create quick replications of scratch organizations with specific project dependencies, minimizing the need for repetitive manual configurations.

  • Introducing the New Compression Namespace

This feature empowers developers to create and extract compressed files, incorporating classes for zip operations. Notable features include the ability to specify compression levels.

  • Enable ICU Locale Formats:

With the Spring ’24 release, developers can use locale formats for dates, times, numbers, and currencies in Salesforce, allowing their apps to switch between languages and regions smoothly.

Salesforce Spring ’24 Release for Admins

The Spring ’24 release comes with a host of features for Admins. Some of the significant updates are mentioned below:

  • Enable Faster Account Sharing Recalculation:

As part of Salesforce’s efforts to improve performance, the automatic account-sharing recalculation process behind the scenes for the Opportunity object is being changed. Implicit child shares records can no more be stored between accounts and their child opportunities. User access to child opportunity records is now determined by the system when they attempt to access them.

  • Einstein Search is Now Enabled by Default:

Leverage the power of Einstein search as it is available as a default feature in all orgs now.

  • Dynamic Actions on Mobile Devices for Standard Objects:

In this release, admins can leverage dynamic actions for standard objects on mobile devices by assigning actions in the Lightning App Builder, eliminating the need for page layout adjustments. Filters can be applied to control the visibility and placement of actions for users.

  • Rich Text and Image Widgets in Lightning Dashboards:

Admins can now add text and images in dashboards in all Salesforce editions, with enhanced capabilities like adding up to five filters on dashboards in all editions and easily updating record fields in report filters.

  • Permission Updates:

There are some major updates for permission in this release. These are:

  1. Permissions Sets are now available in all Salesforce editions.
  2. Error notification when deleting a Permission Set that is included in a Permission Set Group with users currently assigned to it.
  3. New Reference picklist fields, groups, and queues for creating User Access Policies (in beta).

Spring ’24 Release: Top Features in Flow

In Spring ’24, AI predictions extend to Flow. Within the Data Cloud org, the Flow Actions element in the data cloud category enables your Flow to harness AI models established within Data Cloud, seamlessly integrating them throughout the entire Flow.

Some other newest additions to Flow are:

  • Validate the Input Properties Menu on the Component in the Canvas:

This release gets a new input functionality in the Data Table component for Salesforce Flow and other components like Name, Address, Lookup, and URL.

  • Repeater Component for Screen Flow (Beta):

Currently, in beta, this functionality allows Flow Builders to capture data on repeat in a single screen.

  • Debug Tools for Data Cloud-Triggered Flows:

The new Data Cloud-triggered flow debug tool in Flow Builder enables users to test and troubleshoot flow behavior without affecting real data. This simulation ensures the flow’s proper performance before deployment or modifications.

Wrap Up

These are some of the latest updates in the Spring ’24 release, with additional minor adjustments to existing features.
